Pamela Burgess- Pamela began her tenure at Richland Memorial Hospital on November 27, 1972. She has served in many capacities in the hospital including Ward Clerk, Secretary in Social Work and Discharge Planning, Heart Center Liaison in Admissions, Patient Flow Coordinator/Administrative Associate in Radiology, and as a Visitor Service Representative. She retired after almost 50 years of dedicated service in March 2022.
Pamela has been a member of PHCU since May 1984 when the branch was located on the first floor of the hospital near Security. The Credit Union outgrew that location and was moved to 9 Medical Park. After moving to the new location, she was appointed to serve as a member of the Loan Committee by Brian Jowers who served as the Board Chairman. She was later elected to serve as Chair of the Loan Committee. That Committee was later dissolved and then Pamela became a Board Member.
Currently Pamela serves as a Board Member and enjoys the opportunity of being an advocate for Members of the Credit Union. She has served on the Nominations Committee, the Facilities Committee, Secretary of the Board, and presently serves as the Chair of the Member Education Committee, and Treasurer of the Board. If re-elected, Pamela stated "I will continue to provide the best leadership by helping to grow our Membership, keeping our members informed and educated so they can make the best decisions on their finances, and by keeping our Credit Union fiscally sound in this ever-changing economy."
- Eureka Farrell, LMSW- Eureka is the Manager of Managed Services
Operations for Sirius Computer Solutions. Her responsibilities
include: Managing a team of 33 analysts and operators in providing
end-to-end delivery support for Managed Services solutions architecture,
design, case management and service delivery. Eureka previously worked in
healthcare for 25 years, with most of those years being in the field of
Healthcare IT with Prisma Health. She received a Master of Social Work degree
and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Carolina.
She is a member of Brookland Baptist Church and has served as chair of the board of the Black Alumni Council of the My Carolina Alumni Association and other community involvement through her sorority and love of service.
Eureka, a published author of two books, originally hails from Greenville, SC but has called the Midlands home since her graduation from USC in 1988. She now maintains dual residences in Columbia, SC and Troy, MI following her marriage to DeLance Farrell in 2021. She has two bonus sons, James a recent graduate of The Ohio State University and Julian a rising high school junior and she has one daughter, Aria Robertson who is a Tax Associate with PwC in Philadelphia, PA.
- Mary McKissock - Mary joined Corporate Audit Services in October 2009, between Deloitte & Touché , SCANA and Prisma Health, Mary has 21 years of accounting and internal auditing experience. In addition, Mary has a total of seven years’ experience working in a medical office and as the Director of Accounting for Providence Hospitals. Mary graduated from Mary Washington College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and from USC in 1996 with a Master of Accountancy, (CPA).
Supervisory Committee Slate
- Rachel Goode- Rachel is a Senior Internal Auditor at Prisma Health and has been an external/internal auditor for five (5) years. Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Clemson University and received her Masters of Accounting from the University of SC.
- Stewart Cooner, MHA- Stewart rejoined the
Supervisory Committee in April 2022 having previously served from 2002-2005. He
is the Administrative Director of the Institute for Families in Society,
Integrated Health, and Policy Research Division, at the University of South
Carolina.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and a Master of Health Administration from the University of South Carolina (1993 and 1999, respectively) and is a graduate of the South Carolina Executive Institute (2007) affiliated with the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
He has served on several boards and committees and is currently the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the South Carolina School Improvement Council, and a Member of the Board of Trustees of Connie Maxwell Children's Ministries.
